What a cracking meeting we had this week!!!!! This group is so incredibly successful, from next week (5th May) there will be a double-session EVERY WEEK to ensure that all you amazing members get the best possible support and service, particularly during Image Therapy. The new group timings will be:
5.30 - 7.00pm AND
7.30 - 9.00pm
A reminder that the first 30 minutes of each group will be for members to weigh and for the new member talk, then image therapy for an hour. Don't forget that "image" stands for individual motivation and group experience - to support each other, and be supported when necessary - but not forgetting having a fun night out!!!!
With such amazing weight losses - 108lbs this week - this group is going from strength to strength and I for one am just so proud to be part of this magical experience! I'll be waiting with open arms to see everyone at both groups next week!!!!!

FABULOUS OPENING NIGHT!!!
WOW - WHAT AN OPENING NIGHT! I confess to being more than a little nervous but with such fantastic members, the room was buzzing with positivity! I was bowled over looking at some amazing weight losses and with over 50 gorgeous members in the room to support and motivate each other, it really was a night to remember. I was so proud to have the lovely Ursula and Mandy there to support me on my opening night. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did and that you'll all be back to inspire each other again next Wednesday. There'll be news of a forthcoming awards and party night so be sure not to miss it!!!

ONLY ONE DAY TO GO PLUS I'LL BE ANNOUNCING MY TAKE-OVER LIVE ON THE CHIRS EVANS BREAKFAST SHOW!!!
Well I don't think I'll get any sleep tonight, it's a bit like Christmas Eve for me I 'm so excited - and nervous at the same time!!! I just want the evening to be buzzing with excitement and I'm hoping all members - both new and existing - will leave throughly motivated to have a fabulous first week!!!!

WOW - THE CAMBOURNE 10K RUN; WHAT A SUCCESS!
Well, Slimming World Cambourne was extremely well represented by the finishing line at yesterday's 10K race. Despite a bracing and at times chilly wind, the Gazebo stayed put and we had fun chatting to lots of interested people who I'm hoping will be joining our group. The race was very well attended and there was such a good atmosphere. It was fabulous to see many familiar faces included several who did the actual race. The 'guess the weight' raffle produced some interesting guesses, ranging from 7lbs to 4stone 5lbs!!! The correct guess was 16lbs - just over a stone - which surprised a lot of people. There were just two correct guesses and a lovely lady from the Wildlife Trust was the delighted recipient of the fruit hamper. The samples of our scrummy Hi-Fi bars went down a treat, as did the syn-free sausages from Joes. Many thanks to my gorgeous helpers - Nadine, Nicky, Rachel - for doing a sterling job, not to mention Sheryl and Joy who managed to conclude the Cambourne leafleting. And, of course, my wonderful Clive who takes everything in his stride and hasn't once complained (although it's early days yet!!) Sandra :)

MEETING MY FAB CAMBOURNE MEMBERS FOR THE FIRST TIME!!
Well what an exciting night I had last night! Attended my first Cambourne group to start to get to know all of my fabulous new members and wonderful social team. It was lovely chatting to everyone and seeing some very familiar faces from the past! I'm really looking forward to supporting everyone and getting them to target and achieving their dreams. We're gonna have a ball!!!! :) x

WE ARE DEFINITELY SPREADING THE WORD!
Thanks to my gorgeous friends we managed to get out nearly 3,000 leaflets on Sunday and Monday - wow! A huge thanks to you all, you are absolute stars! The banner is firmly pitched outside my fence (much to Clive's dismay but it is generating much interest!) and I'm getting my posters out as quickly as I can. I'm very much looking forward to the 10K run on Sunday. I've been in touch with Joes Sausages to see if I can get samples of their syn-free sausages so fingers crossed we'll have a bit of food there, too so watch this space!!

A Phenomenal Woman, by Maya Angelou - how true is this?
I thought I would share with you a wonderful and incredibly moving piece of prose with you:
When I was in my younger days, I weighed a few pounds less,
I needn't hold my tummy in to wear a belted dress.
But now that I am older, I've set my body free,
There's comfort of elastic where once my waist would be.
Inventor of those high-heeled shoes My feet have not forgiven,
I have to wear a nine now, but used to wear a seven.
And how about those pantyhose- they're sized by weight, you see,
So how come when I put them on the crotch is at my knee?
I need to wear these glasses as the print's been getting smaller;
And it wasn't very long ago I know that I was taller.
Though my hair has turned to gray and my skin no longer fits,
On the inside, I'm the same old me, It's the outside's changed a bit.
But, on a positive note...
I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things:
a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.
I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life."
I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands.
You need to be able to throw something back.
I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.
I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug,
or just a friendly pat on the back.
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

21st April - Cambourne here I come!
Oh my goodness - I am soooo excited!!! Less than 3 weeks to go before I officially take over although I will be getting to know everyone from 7th April. I won't apologise to anyone that for the next 3 weeks you won't be able to go anywhere in Cambourne without feeling my presence somehow! Please spread the word and tell EVERYONE you know that before very long, Wednesday night's will just never be the same for anyone in my fabulous group. We'll be sharing success stories, celebrating like you've never known it before and seeing target members achieve their dreams. We will also be there to support those who need it the most. But there will be so much more going on, you just won't want to miss it! Stay tuned in for regular updates and make sure you're with me on the night - we're going to have a ball!!!
